Kerberos Binaries

This page contains links to kerberos binaries for use by faculty, students and staff in the UC Berkeley EECS Department. The files on this page are controlled by US Goverment Export restriction laws. The US Goverment considers Kerberos to be 'munitions' so the source or binaries with DES cannot be redistributed.

    KerberosV Windows NT distribution

krb5.zip is a copy of \\Gallia\Apps\krb5. I have no idea if this will work with '95 or Windows 3.1. It does work with NT4.0. This binary is an prerelease built from MIT sources.
    1. Download krb5.zip
    2. Unzip it. (If necessary, download Winzip) I placed it in C:\Program Files\krb5
    3. Follow the instructions in /usr/sww/doc/security/KERBEROS/NT_krb5.txt.
  • You have to install this by hand, it would be nice if it used installwizard or something.
  • This is alpha-ware, so the help system does not work.
  • The terminal emulation is poor, so if you use emacs, you will be hitting Control-L often

    CNS

    Instructions
  • cns-95q1.zip Don't be confused by the 95, this binary should work under Windows3.1, Windows 95 and NT (However, I've only tried it under NT). The 95q1 means that Cygnus released it in the first quarter of 1995.
  • These two files go into C:\WINNT
  • krb.con
  • krb.rea
