$PTII/util/testsuite/README.jindent Version: $Id: README.jindent,v 1.1 1999/08/25 17:29:06 cxh Exp $ This is the README file for the standalone version of jindent. jindent is a simple shell script that indents Java files using Emacs. It is fairly slow, but the indentation style is very configurable. Usually jindent is shipped as part of Ptolemy II, but we are making this small standalone release available. The standalone release consists of the following files $PTII/util/testsuite/jindent - The shell script that does the actual work $PTII/util/testsuite/jindent.el - Emacs file that does some set up $PTII/util/testsuite/ptjavastyle.el - Emacs file that contains the Ptolemy II coding style Installation: 1. Set your PTII variable to point to the top of the tree: setenv PTII ~/jindent1.0 or edit the jindent and jindent.el scripts to hardware the variable 2. Place $PTII/util/testsuite/jindent in your path Usage: jindent Foo.java will: 1. Copy the file to a temporary location 2. Indent the temporary file 3. If there are any indentation changes necessary, it will check the file out of SCCS if necessary 4. Reindent the file 5. Check the file back in using SCCS or CVS jindent -n Foo.java will do the above steps, but not actually check the file in or out.
