public class IntArrayToString
extends TypedAtomicActor

Convert an integer-array into a string. Uses only the low order byte from each integer. NOTE: Assumes an 8-bit character set. The output is a string assembled from these bytes. This actor is designed to facilitate use of the SerialComm serial communication actor which uses the same kind of integer array format as this actor. Datagram actors can use this format as well.

Parameters:

container - The container.

name - The name of this actor.

Throws:

IllegalActionException - If the actor cannot be contained by the proposed container.

NameDuplicationException - If the container already has an actor with this name.

fire

public void fire()
          throws IllegalActionException

Consume one array token of integer tokens on the input port and output a new string token on the output port. The least significant byte of the first integer generates the first character in the string, etc. NOTE: Java has many options regarding its character set. This actor relys on the default setting on the platform on which it is run. However, it assumes that this character set is an 8-bit character set.
